Forevermore: kaleidoscope

i am staring at the kaleidoscope sky
collecting raindrops in my shattered eyes
streams of vapor exhaled from my paper lips
(fleeting thoughts, sinking ships).
the vibrant sea hangs just overhead
i see the scaly stars glimmering from the corner of my bed
swimming fervently against the opaque…
